Summary

The mechanisms of experiencing success are complex and full of contradictions. They reflect a person’s inner world and indicate the style and quality of their life. Understanding a person’s own values and their influence on the perception of success can help them to be more conscious about their achievements and the choice of their life path. Analysis of the results showed differences in the understanding of life success of teachers and students. While teachers associate success situations with social recognition, students emphasize the importance of personal development and career growth opportunities. There are differences in the system of values and motivation. In particular, self-realization is important for students, while for teachers the ability to meet the needs of society is important. Teachers and students have different opinions in understanding the factors that prevent a person from being successful. Thus, teachers consider laziness, disorganization, fear of failure, and lack of motivation to be the main reasons. Obstacles to success for students are the influence of the environment, the opinions of other people, self-doubt, lack of a clear goal, disorganization. The respondents’ reasoning is similar in their answers to the question: what character traits and external factors contribute to success? Thus, the traits of a successful person are purposefulness, the ability to be happy and the ability to communicate, the ability to surround yourself with successful people, resilience and faith in one’s own strengths. The analysis of the results showed the need to transition in the educational sphere from a post-figurative model of education to a configurative and pre-figurative one. This transition will allow all participants in the educational process to demonstrate and develop their own values of life success, and the self-worth of a person as a subject of educational interaction will increase.

Key words: life success, education, students, teachers, intergenerational ideas, values.
