The author of this article explores the features of creating a culturally oriented environment in the process of teaching the educational component “Ukrainian language (for professional orientation)” for future lawyers. It is stated that a culturally oriented environment is an educational or social space (for example, a school, university, community) that actively integrates cultural values, knowledge, traditions and practices into its functionality, creating conditions for the formation of a culturally competent individual who understands and respects diversity, values his own heritage and can creatively interact with the cultural context.
It has been proven that within the framework of professional training of lawyers, it is necessary to pay attention not only to the formation of knowledge about culture as a holistic system of culturological and professional skills and abilities, but also to the development of the ability to competently use cultural heritage in educational and professional activities, the readiness to achieve a certain level of self-knowledge through the dialogue of cultures, to get acquainted with the moral, ethical and cultural achievements of one’s own and other peoples, to master a certain cultural minimum, as well as the need for correct socio-cultural self-identification of a person, the establishment of national, cultural, social tolerance. Accordingly, it is necessary to form a special culturally oriented environment in higher education institutions that provide professional training for future lawyers, the main ways to create which are to fill individual academic disciplines, such as “Ukrainian Language (for professional purposes)”, with appropriate cultural, historical and linguistic material, develop selective educational components, organize students’ research activities, and involve them in active creative activities. It is substantiated that in the process of teaching the educational component “Ukrainian Language (for professional purposes)” it is advisable to propose for consideration during lectures and seminars relevant issues related to cultural and historical and linguistic material; organize project activities of applicants, and activate interdisciplinary connections with Ukrainian literature and other types of art.
Key words: general cultural literacy, culturally oriented environment, educational process, future lawyers, higher education students, Ukrainian language.
